SKILLS TO BE LEARNED:  Relative mathematics, relative science, drainage, water supply, gas piping, Plan Reading, OSHA 30, Backflow Certification, Medical Gas Certification and acquiring a Memphis & Shelby County Journeyman Plumbing License.

LENGTH OF PROGRAM: Five (5) Years (2 to 3 NIGHTS PER WEEK) September – May.  Certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.

WAGES: Current Starting Wage Rates of over $12.00 Per Hour with yearly program level increases. 

BENEFITS: Company paid Health Insurance and Pension for Journeyman.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Five year Apprentice Program, 246 hours per year classroom instruction by certified  instructors, along with a minimum  1,700 hours of on the job training by Building Trades Journeyman Plumbers.

WHEN TO APPLY: Wednesdays  8:00 A.M. - 11:00 AM.

 REQUIREMENTS: You must be 18 Years of Age. You must have a valid Driver’s license W/photo I.D.  You must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. You must pay a $33.00 ACT Work-Keys qualifying test fee and score satisfactory. You must pay a $40.00 qualifying ten panel drug test fee and test with a negative result, complete an application and return all pertinent information within 15 days 

UNION AFFILIATION: United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada Plumbers Local Union  17 / Chartered in 1890.
